The precinct bounded by Derbyshire Road, Balmain Road, City West Link and Moore Street West comprises land in State Government ownership. Part of the precinct is under the control and management of Sydney Buses and forms the Leichhardt Bus Depot.

The remainder of the site is being redeveloped by the NSW Department of Education on behalf of the Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus (formerly Leichhardt High School). These works involve the construction of a playing field and the creation of new bus bays along Balmain Road at its eastern end adjacent to the School Campus.
